The girls at their Christmas Even dinner. We tried to make it special for them. They actually ate on my china--I know I'm brave. But we survived the dinner with no breaks:)

Opening their Christmas Even gift. David's mother made them rag dolls. In the back there is a zipper where they can put their pajamas. Analeah loved hers and sleeps with it, Sofi on the other hand, prefers to sleep with her little animals:)

Christmas morning, Analeah came to our room about 8am--I know can you believe they slept in! She said that she peeked and Santa had eaten her cookies, and left her a note. Santa wrapped their gifts this year, and we had such a fun time watching them open them. Sofi's facial expressions say it all. She actually understood what was going on, which made it more fun for Analeah also.

Sofi opened the box, took one look at the bag full of miniature animals and left the rest of the box unopened. She was so excited and still sleeps with them. Great choice mom!

Thanks everyone for the gifts, calls, and thoughts. We had a great Christmas and thank the Lord for the blessings he has given us this year. We've truly been blessed above all for our family and friends.

Silly Sofi

Sofi cracks me up! She has such a different personality than Analeah. She loves the color green, loves animals, spiderman, frogs, and horses. She loves pizza and french fries. I love how stubborn she is (most of the time) about what she wants, and that she always wants to be like Analeah, but different too. Here are a few photos of her at her best.

Sofi me hace reir. Tiene una personalidad muy diferente que Analeah. Le encanta el color verde, animales, spiderman, ranas y caballos. Le gusta pizza y papas fritas. Me gusta como ella sabe que quiere y no los cambia.

Sofi sets up her animals and has conversations with them. She sleeps with them. That is something Analeah NEVER plays with:)

This is her big cheesy grin. All you have to say is "show your teeth" and she'll smile for the camera.

We often find her sleeping like this. I went to a RS meeting so David let the girls play a princess video game. Analeah actually plays and Sofi just plays with the extra controller.

Siempre encontramos dormida asi. Fui a un reunion de la iglesia entonces David las dejo a jugar un juego de princesa. Analeah juega y Sofi juego con el control extra.

I cut Sofi's hair. It was so thin and stringy that I just decided to chop it off one night after her bath. She looks so cute with her hair short.

Corte su pelo. Estaba muy escaso entonces decidi a cortar despues de su bano. Me gusta mucho su pelo corto:)

Analeah turned 5 this year! I can't believe my baby is growing up. She received a package from Grandma.
Analeah cumplio 5 anos en Octubre. No puedo creer que my bebe ya esta creciendo tan rapido. Recibio un regalo por correo de Abuelita. We found a dollhouse and polly pocket dolls on craigslist. She loves them and I love that we didn't have to pay full price:)
Encontramos una casa de barbi y unas munecas usadas. Las encanta mucha y me gusta que no tuvimos que pagar todo el precio.

First Day of School!

A bittersweet day! Analeah was so excited to start Kindergarten! She's been talking about it all summer, but this week was a constant "when am I going to school" "Can I wear ... to school" She is going half a day, in the afternoon. David took his lunch break to be with us today. You can tell by the pictures how excited she is. Her she is in her school uniform:)

Analeah's Haircut

Analeah has been begging me to cut her hair all summer. It's just too hot. She refuses to wear it down. She hates when I comb it. She sweats at night. So finally I took her to Great Clips and they cut off 6-7 inches. She was so excited and felt so important! I wanted her to donate it, but it just wasn't long enough and she would have had to cut it really short to do so. So this is her experience:)

Analeah queria cortar su pelo todo el verano. Hace mucho calor, no le gusta su pelo suelto, no le gusto peinarse porque le duele. Finalmente, la lleve a la peluqueria. Cortaron 6-7 pulgadas. Estaba muy animada y se sintio muy importante. Yo queria que lo donara pero no tenia suficiente.

Analeah has been in a ballet class for about a year. She finally had a recital that wasn't on Sunday. We were so excited for her. She did such a great job and we just wanted to share with you how proud we are of her.

Analeah participated in our ward's pinewood derby. She had a great time painting the car, and she was so proud when they called her name to take her car up to the start of the race track. As you can see from the last photo, she was pretty sad that she didn't win:)

What we've been up to--a little bit of Everything

Playing Bingo--We bought this bingo cage and the girls love it. We had a family night and played bingo blackout--analeah is really smart, but it took FOREVER! She got to turn the cage and call out the numbers-but since she doesn't know numbers past 30, it took a long time for her to say each number, and then see if she had it on her card. It was fun though, Sofi just ate M&Ms and played with the bingo chips!-- a fun night:)

Compramos un juego de bingo. Tuvimos un noche de hogar y las ninas jugamos bingo! Analea esta muy inteligente, pero el juego se duro para un tiempo largo!!!. Ella queria decir todo de los numeros, y decia todo hasta 90! Sofi se comio todo los caramelos! Muy divertido!

For Christmas, we we got 2 more Mr Potato heads. So David and the girls each have one to build. We got a starwars startrooper and Indiana Jones--but girls being girls, always add a little feminine touch:) First the dress them, and then take pictures of them with the fashion show. I won't show you all of their different faces, I think they took 15 pictures!

Playing with their paper computers--We went to Denny's and they gave each of the girls a computer menu. They loved it because it looked like ours. When we got home, they layed down on the floor and pretended to type on their laptops:)

Fuimos a un restarante que dieron un menu a las ninas que se parece una computadora. Le encantan porque es como la computadora de nosotros. Cuando llegamos a la casa, pusieron las computadoras en el piso y jugaban como que fueron reales.

During my preschool week we learned about Dr. Suess. Analeah was fascinated by all his crazy stories. We read Green Eggs and ham and made recipes so that the kids could make them at home. For 3 days after that, Analeah asked for them at every meal. I just couldn't bring myself to make them. Finally we did, and do you think Analeah ate them? No way!

Durante mi semana para ensenar a la clase de Analeah, aprendimos acerca de Dr. Suess. Analeah le encanta los cuentos de el. Leimos a "Green Eggs and Ham" (Juevos Verdos y jamon) Para 3 dias despues, ella queria hacerlos. Yo no queria, pero finalmente, los hice para ella. Pero no le gusto!

I don't even know how to spell it, but there it is. Sofi had to put her first bandaid on this week. I can't believe she's made it two years without one. I found her with dried blood all over her finger. I had no idea what had happened, because she didn't cry. While I washed it she started crying. Over the next few days I found drops of blood on the door frame, floor, table, so I knew it had bled for quite awhile, but I still have no idea how she got cut.

No se como escribir la palabra. Puse una tirita sobre su dedo esta semana. Lo encontre con sangre seco en su dedo, pero no lloro, entonces no se que paso. El proximo dia, encontre sangre seco en la puerta, el piso, y la mesa, y todavia no se que paso. No lloro, no grito, nada. Pero despues que lavar, lloro, tome este foto:.

Analeah's Story

This is a little book that Analeah made in preschool. She came home and showed me. She held it up like the librarian in storytime, and with a proud voice begins..."My Family"
Analeah hizo este libro en preescolar. "Mi Familia" Queria leer conmigo, entonces, puso so librito en su mano como su maestro en la biblioteco y empezo..."Mi Familia"This is my Daddy (Which is really funny because she calls David "Papi") He loves books. He decided to read books. (Here she very conspicuosly licks her finger to turn the page).

This is Mami. Mommy loves to read too. She loves to sing, and dance, and play with her girls.

Whole Wheat Bread Recipe

I went to a cooking class for one of our ward's enrichment activities. They showed us how to make whole wheat bread, that actually didn't turn out to be a brick (at least that's how mine has turned out in the past) Enjoy!

6 c warm water (115 degrees)
2 T salt
1/2 c canola oil
1 c honey
3 T dough enhancer (can be bought at health food stores/cooking stores) This is the KEY! It keeps it fresh and light.
2 c bread flour (not all purpose) or 2/3 vital wheat gluten
3 T instant yeast
6-8 c. freshly ground wheat flour

Mix ingredients together in a mixer on high speed to mix well. Turn mixer down to kneading speed and begin adding wheat flour (The recipe uses altogether 14-16c fresh ground flour) until the dough pulls away from the sides of the mixer. Don't add too much flour, the dough should still be slightly sticky at this point.

Knead in mixer for 10 min until dough is smooth and elastic. If it is still too sticky, add a little berad flour until it's easy to handle.

Turn dough onto oiled counter and shape into loaves. This will make about 5 loaves. Place into well greased pans and let rise till dough is 2" above top of pan (about an hour). Be sure to cover with towel. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 min. Take out of pans immediately and cool on wire racks.

I taught preschool this week so we had a Valentines Day party. The kids were so excited the entire day, so we got nothing done, but they had a great time! we made Valentines Boxes with animals on them, Analeah's was the monkey. She got candy and they decorated cookies. She really had fun making her valentines--which were tinkerbell ones that gave each child a sticker--whoo hooo!

Yo ensene a pre-escolar esta semana, y tuviemos una fiesta para el dia de Valentin. Los ninos estaban tan animados que no querian hacer los studios, pero era una fiesta grande:) Hicimos unos cartones para poner cartas y caramelos de los otros ninos. Analeah hizo el monito. Recibio caramelos y hicieron galletas. Le gusto mucho hacar los "Valentines" para los otros ninos. Los de ella eran de Tinkerbelle con stickers.

A couple of weeks ago, David had to open the door to the Bishops Office so the Activities Days girls could "heart attack" his office. Analeah watched in wonder, and I could just tell that she was thinking how "cool" those 8 year olds were. So when we came home, she wanted to do the same thing. So one night, when David was gone, we heart attacked our front door. We made hearts, but then we made stars, squares and ovals too. Hey at least she knows her shapes.

Also, Thanks Mom for making these absolutely adorable aprons. I love them, and so do the girls. I couldn't get Sofi to pose for me, but I still had to get a picture because its so cute. She is so stubborn these days.

Hace tres semanas, fuimos a la capilla porque David tenia que abrir la puerta de la oficina del Obispo. Las ninas del primaria (8-11 anos) decoran su oficina para el dia de Valentin. Analeah queria hacer los mismo, entonces un noche cuando David no estaba, decoramos la puerta de nuestro apartamento. Ella hizo las corazones, pero tambien hizo estrellas, circulos, y cuadros:)

Tambien, hay fotos de las delantales que mi mamo las hizo. Son muy bonitos, pero la Sofi no queria tomar la foto:)

We've Been Sick

We've been sick:( Analeah came home from ballet and just hung out on the couch. She didn't want to play or eat. So I knew something was wrong. She had a fever for almost two days. When she was just getting better, Sofi got sick. The same thing happened only she had a cold all last week. Poor thing, I hate when little kids cough and can't breathe. They sound so horrible, and there isn't that much you can do for them. Clint do they make your nose hose for kids:) Just kidding...Anyhow, they are back to their jolly selves now, and we're glad! These pictures were taken when they were watching a movie, but they both fell asleep. That's how I knew they were really sick!

Hemos estado enfermas! Analeah vino a su clase de ballet y no queria comer ni jugar. Yo sabia que algo ha pasada. Tenia un fiebre para dos dias. Cuando se recupero, Sofi empezo lo mismo. Despues del feibre, tenia un gripe horible. No me gusta porque no hay medicina para ninos pequenos. Pero, ya estan mejor y felices. Las fotos son cuando estaban mirando una pelicula pero se durmieron. Es como yo sabia que estaban muy enfermas.

Fun Week...FHE and Baking!

We began the week with a wonderful FHE about Lehi's Vision. With our art skills, we (Analeah and Sofi) drew our version of the vision. I gave captions, just in case you couldn't guess... This is what is so wonderful about the gospel. Even young children can understand and participate:)
Sofi has learned what GUM is! AUGHGHHH! Every time she sees gum, she insists on having some. So at first, I gave a miniscule piece and she was content...meaning she would swallow it the second she put it in her mouth. Now she has learned that you are not supposed to eat it. So, she just holds it in her hand (see her hand in the photo) and sucks on it every now and then. Needless to say, I find pieces of her gum everywhere:(

Someone at David's work gave him some old toys that they had. A barbie car, an Easy bake oven, a huge tea party set and some friendship bracelet materials. The girls were thrilled with them all. So its been like Christmas at our house. Both Sofi and Nuni constantly fight over the car...I never did like barbies, ha ha ha. But they really love it.

This morning we tried baking chocolate chip cookies in the easy bake oven. This is the outcome... pretty yummy considering they were cooked by a light bulb. :) Analeah loves it. The best part for Mommy---Analeah and Sofi fight over who gets to stand on the chair... and if both of them are standing on the chair, who has more room... Is this just a stage, or should I prepare myself for a lifetime of sisterly love:)

This Week

What can I say? I have no pictures for this week. Sorry! It was pretty much a normal week. David was busy with meetings and appointments, we missed him but are proud of the work he does. Analeah went to CTR 5 today. She was so excited to be in a new class and have a new teacher. She felt OLD because the new little sunbeams came in and she is finally not the youngest. Saturday they had a primary breakfast where she met her class and teacher. She also got to help David clean the church. She feels really special because David only takes her, and not Sofi.
Sofi misses Nuni when she goes to preschool. She is usually pretty whiny and hangs on me. She doesn't know what to do without her partner in crime:)

No tengo fotos para esta semana. La semana estaba normal. David fue muy ocupado con reuniones y entrevistas. Le extranamos pero estamos orgullos para el. Analeah empezo un clase nuevo en la primaria, Estaba muy animado para su maestra nueva, a para ser Los VIEOJOS en la primaria. En Sabado, fue a un desayuno para la primaria. Tambien fue con David a limpiar la capilla. Se sento muy especial porque Sofi no fue, solo Analeah:)
La Sofir--la extrana a su hermana cuando va a preescolar. Llora y quiere upa cuando Analeah se va. No sabe a que hacer sin su hermana:)

Homemade Cleaning Supplies

I found these recipes on the blog of one of my friends. I am interested in trying some of them. If nothing else, baking soda should be a MUST in your food storage. It's multi purpose-- cooking and cleaning!

Dishwasher Detergent
1/2 borax and 1/2 baking soda. Put in sealed container. Use 2 Tablespoons per load or more if you have hard water. Rinse Aid1/2 water and 1/2 white vinegar. The vinegar smell goes away as soon as the dishes are dry.
My Favorite Laundry Detergent
This stuff smells so good. You may need to use Clorox 2 on tough stains but this will get your clothes clean. Finely grate 1 bar of Fels Naptha laundry soap (in the laundry aisle). You could use Ivory soap or a vegetable based glycerin soap if you have a Natural Foods store close by. Add 1/2 cup Arm and Hammer washing soda (NOT baking soda) and 1/2 cup borax powder. Shake it up in a closed container. If you'd like a different scent add some drops of your favorite essential oil. I find I like orange and lemon the best. Tea tree oil has an anti-bacterial effect! Anyway, use just 2 Tablespoons per full load. This costs 2 cents per load instead of 15+ for regular detergent. I just saved myself over $100 this past year!
*Instead of Downy you can add 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water to your downy ball for the same anti-static effect. This will slowly strip off the waxy build-up from those dryer sheets.
Toilet Bowl Cleaner
My least favorite thing in the world... So add a splash of white vinegar to the bowl. Then sprinkle some baking soda on your toilet brush and scrub around. (I like to save my Parmesan grated cheese containers and reuse them by putting baking soda in it.) If it's bad feel free to let it sit while you clean the rest of the bathroom then scrub it again.
Tub and Sink Cleaner
Save that grated parmesan cheese container (clean it out first) then put in baking soda. Sprinkle on whatever surface you want clean then scrub with a wet scrub brush or rag then rinse clean with water. If you want something like that Soft Scrub brand all you need to do is sprinkle salt on the wet surface. Cool, huh?
Window Cleaner
1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water works best but I've also tried club soda and that works too. Windex is mostly water and ammonia. That stuff just gives me a headache and if you accidentally mix it with anything that has bleach in it you get toxic fumes. TOXIC people!
All-Purpose Cleaner
Mix 2 Tablespoons white vinegar and 1 teaspoon borax in a small bowl. Add 1 cup hot water and stir till dissolved. Let cool then put in 16 oz. spray bottle. Add 1/8 cup Palmolive or Ivory liquid soap then fill to the top with water. If you want an anti-bacterial spray add 15 drops tea tree essential oil.
Disinfectant Cleaner
Fill a 16 oz. (2 cups) spray bottle almost all the way with purified water. Add a few drops of Palmolive soap and 30 drops of tea tree essential oil. Did you know that Lysol spray is legally considered an insecticide? Yike! Who wants to breathe that?
Furniture Polish
1/4 cup olive oil, 4 Tablspoons white vinegar and 25 drops of lemon essential oil and no ozone-killing aerosol can! Hooray!

Other Ideas to Try
We have a carpet cleaner that comes in handy for flu season or potty training season and I've found that instead of buying the carpet cleaning solution all I have to do is put in a few Tablespoons of Clorox 2 with 1 cup hot water and I've made my own!One more thing: We use the foaming soap dispensers for our bathrooms. If you buy the concentrated liquid soap and use 1-2 Tablespoons and fill the rest with water, and shake really well, you've made your own for a lot less money.

Sofi Turns 2!

Our little Sofi is 2! I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast. It seems that we just brought her home from the hospital. We celebrated her birthday during Christmas break while we were in Colorado. We made a little Elmo cake for her, but she didn't blow out the candle. She loved opening the presents, and actually did it herself. Just in case, she had lots of help from analeah and Colton. Thanks everyone for the presents and for coming and calling this week.

Nuestra Sofi tiene 2 anos. No puedo creer que esta creciendo tan rapido. Parece que recien la trajimos del hospital. Celebramos su cumpleanos en las casa de mis padres en colorado. Colorado

We made the 16 hour drive to Colorado this Christmas Holiday and we are so glad we did!
If you exclude the 16 hour drive, stopping almost every hour :), snowy and icy roads, and freezing weather! Truthfully we are so grateful that we were able to see our family. Thanks to everyone who made sacrifices/staying later than planned so that we could see you. Thanks for making it a worthwhile trip.
We stayed a full week and it was relaxing and good to see the girls interact with grandparents and cousins. We had a very good end of year celebration!

Analeah and Sofi were princesses for Halloween (big surprise there) David's mom made these dresses for them the last time we went to Ecuador. They were so cute! and matching! Anyway, we had a ward trunk or treat at the Church and then we went trick or treating!
Analeah y Sofi se vistaron como princesas para Halloween! La abuelita (Mariana) hizo unos vestidos precisos cuando fuimos a Ecuador en Junio. Las ninas estaban tan lindas! Tuvimos una fiesta de nuestro barrio y fuimos Trick or Treating ayer.

The Cake Walk

I wish I took some pictures, but trick or treating was hilarious. Sofi couldn't believe that people were just giving her handfuls of candy. After they did so she would just giggle and run to the next door. She wouldn't let us carry her bag of candy at all--it was hers! It got so heavy she decided that the stroller would be a good place for it to go. She defensively held on to the stroller to make sure I didn't take it away. Everyone thought they were so cute!These pictures are afterwards.

Analeah got some princess shoes for her birthday. Whenever I told Sofi to go get some shoes on, she would choose Analeah's princess shoes! They are so big for her, and she always falls, but she loves them. So Grandma sent her a pair to be like her sister! The photo is kind of blurry. They kept moving a curtsying!

One of David's Mission Companions and his wife came down to visit. We met at the temple. The girls and I hung out outside while they went in. Sofia threw up all over on the way their, so I bought the girls new outfits. What a good excuse to shop! Afterwards we went and ate. Thanks for visiting Davis and Asialene! We really enjoyed seeing you. Come back again!

Analeah turned 4! I can't believe it. She is such a blessing in our lives. We had a great weekend, actually celebrating most of her birthday on Saturday. We went out to eat and opened presents then. On Monday we had a little party with another family from our ward. She blew out candles and had a great time. Thanks to all who called. Happy Birthday To our Princess!

I asked her what kind of cake she wanted and she chose cheesecake this year, nothing fancy or extravant. I tried to persuade her to choose an actual cake so I could decorate it but she insisted. So funny!

First Day of Preschool

We decided that Analeah was ready for preschool, so we started a little joy school along with 3 other kids in our ward. With a total of 4 kids, each mother teaches 2 times a month. She goes twice a week and absolutely loves it. They have a curriculum that comes every month with worksheets and planned activities. Here is her first day. It was really bright outside.

Empezamos un pre-escolar para Analeah. Con 3 otros ninos, cada madre ensena 2 veces por mes. Asiste 2 veces por semana y absolutamente le encanta. Esta apriendo todo las letras y sonidos. Y como escribir. Y puede leer unos palabras y escribir su nombre. Estamos orgullos de ella!

A Sad Day

We decided to cut Analeah's hair because it was down to her waist and kept getting so tangled. I was really hesitant to cut it because I didn't want her to lose those beautiful ringlets. She has such beautiful hair. We cut about 7 inches off :(. I was right, her ringlets haven't returned.
:( However she is happier because it's not so hot.

We went to SeaWorld while Mom, Dad, and Cary were here. What an awesome place! We had such a fun day, and the girls loved all of the animals, especially Sofi. They have this new addition called Bay of Play, which is a Sesame Street attraction. They had rides, and all of their favorite characters! We got pictures with Cookie Monster, of course both of the girls wanted Elmo, but the line was too long--we settled for Cookie!

We went to a LA Angels Baseball game 2 weeks ago. David got tickets from a friend at work. We had such a fun time. Analeah ate cotton candy for the first time, and she said that she was sick after eating so much. We had great seats, and the girls loved the fireworks that they shot off after every home run!

My brother Kj and his family (Jess and Holli) came to visit us in July. We had such a great time. Finally another girl to play with ! Dressing Up

First, let me apologize for not posting in a looooong time. We had over 200 pictures on our camera. This summer has gone by so quickly. Our little Sofi has turned into a little girl. She now loves to dress up. her latest modeling shows--Mr. Potato Head glasses, hat and glasses, and of course the swimming floaty ring around her neck. Ha Ha She keeps us busy!

Ballet Classes!

Analeah started a ballet/tap dance classes yesterday! It was so cute to watch all of those girls dance around in their tights and slippers. Most of the girls just ran around and didn't listen very well, but Analeah was intrigued and did everything the teacher asked! She was SO CUTE!

Here are some more pictures from Ecuador. Finally! We went to the beach while we were there. The water was sooooo warm--unlike southern California in May. Analeah fell asleep halfway through because she got sand in her eyes....what a drama! Sofi had a blast...eating the sand and wandering around free!

Life at the Beach/La vida en la Playa

The water is freezing, but the weather is GREAT! We've had a lot of fun at the beach lately. We even flew kites. This is the best time, before all the tourists get here. Analeah's not afraid of the sand anymore, as you can see. Sofi just eats it, and loves getting dirty!
El agua esta muy fria, pero la clima es exellente. Fuimos a la play 2 veces y las ninas la enantaron. No hay muchas personas porque es antes de las turistas vienen. Analeah no tiene miedo de la arena, y la sofi solamente se coma.

Random Events

We had a stray CAT in our garage! For those of you who know, we are not particulary fond of cats. okay, we DISLIKE them very much and are AFRAID of them. We could hear it purring, AAUUGHH and it has been very hot outside. We were afraid that it was going to die behind all of our boxes. So out comes the brigade. David has a mop in one hand and Princess Analeah in the other. What a funny day! We finally got some neighbor kids to scare it out. now we are much more careful about how quickly we close the garage door!
Habia un gato feo en nuestra garaje. No se si saben, que no nos gusta a los gatos. Tenemos miedo. Escuchamos el sonido del gato pero no se salio. David fue con el escoba en un mano, y la princesa Analeah en el otro. Finalmente los ninos al lado nos ayudaron a sacar el gato feo!

Analeah went potty, and about 20 minutes later she was still in there. I couldn't hear her and so I knocked on the door. no answer. She had locked it, so after I picked the lock and opened the door, I found this...

Her first library card. She's so cute when she's sleeping. If only she would stay that way... We go to storytime once a week at the library and she loves it.

We got a package in the mail. I opened it, and took it back to our bedroom. When I came back to the living room I found an unexpected package. Analeah doesn't think its a good idea to mail Sofi.

A crazy couple of Weeks/Las Semanas Locas

Since David was sent to London for 2 weeks, the girls and I had a blast. Ha Ha. I thought I would take a picture of the girls holding signs that counted the days Papi was gone. After the second day, I gave up trying to get a good pictures, and let David imagine the rest.

Queria que David me ayuda con el espanol, pero despues de mucha espera, voy a tratar.

David fue a Londres para 2 semanas para su trabajo. Pense que tomara fotos de las ninas con el numero de dias, pero despues del segun dia, pare. Las ninas no tomaban buenas fotos:) con papeles.

After 3 days, we went home to Sanford. We had such a good time. We flew from San Diego to Colorado Springs. Sofia slept the whole way there (thank you Benedryl!) and Analeah colored and played with cards. It was great! I kind of got caulky and thought, wow, my kids are such good air travelers (read on for the flight home.....)

Despues de 3 dias, las ninas y yo fuimos a Sanford. Tuvimos un gran tiempo con los abuelitos. Sofia se durmio en el avion gracias a la medicina para dormir :) y Analeah jugo con tarjetas y se pinto en su libro. Senti orgullosa porque mis ninas estaban muy obedientes y lindas (lea mas despues para el avion de regreso hee hee)

The girls were great with the grandparents. We had a lot of fun.

Analeah loved playing outside in the yard. It even snowed especially for her. She said, It's Christmas when she woke up to snow outside. Mom has more pictures on her camera.

Analeah le gusto a jugar afuera, habia nieve tambien, especialmente para ella! Pensaba que era la Navidad.

Sofi was the little rebel this trip. She got into EVERYTHING! All the cupboards and drawers, magazines, movies, toys, dad's tools, mom's tupperware and the most exciting . . . the QUIK powder. I wish I had taken a picture with my camera, but mom's was the closest. She had that chocolate powder spilled all over herself and the floor. It was finger lickin' GOOD! She had the stairs mastered the first try, and it only took once touching the stove (when it was almost out) for her to stay away from it. (It might have been that she steered clear of the entire area because she got her head stuck between the railing like a calf in the branding pen! ha ha Poor little moo cow!)

Sofi estaba macriada. Se meto su mano en todas las cosas de mi mama. Encontro la chocolate en polvo. Tenia en todo su cuerpo, manos, boca . . . Tenia miedo porque hay escaleras en mi casa, pero aprendio muy rapido, arriba, abajo, arriba, abajo. Tambian tenia miedo el fuego que usamos para calentar la casa. Pero, toco un tiempo, y miro a su mano. No se quemo mucho. Despues, no toco otra vez.

Analeah was a big helper over the week. She helped Dad haul in wood and mom clean. She found some loose change on Dad's night stand while he was away, so she brought it to me and asked if she could have it. I told her that it wasn't hers, but maybe if she asked Grandma and Grandpa, she could do some jobs to earn the money. The minute Grandma got home, Analeah asked "Can I do a job for Money?" My three year old earned $2.50 that night (Thanks Mom Dad and Papa!) She paid her tithing last Sunday and she was super excited and proud to give it to the Bishop. We're proud of her too.

Analeah ayudo mi papi a trabajar... a traer la madera para el fuego, limpiar la casa con mi mama . . Encontro dinero en el cuarto de mi papi. Me pregunto si puedo cojer. Le dije no. Pero, le dije si quiere dinero, puede preguntar a la abuelita si algo para trabajar para el dinero. El momento que mi mam llego al trabajo, analeah le pregunto si hay algo trabajo para ganar dinero. Mi mama con una sonrisa, le dio unos trabajas. Cuando llego a California ha ganado $3. Sentio muy grande, y en domingo le dio al obispo su diezmo!

As you all know, Analeah is into princesses. So Grandma decided to make her a princess dress. So we bought this Satin, Glittery material for $1/yard at Walmart. Mom made the dress and Nuni loved it. She wore it all day, everyday the entire week. The only sad part is that if we wash it, nothing will be left of it, because it frays so badly.

The night before we were supposed to go home, I went grocery shopping for dinner. I only had my driver's license and some cash. no purse, no pockets. So when I got home I had to bring in the girls and the groceries. It was really cold so I wanted to only make one trip. I put my driver's license in the bags and brought them in. I forgot about them. Uh too late. Mom threw the bags in the trash, and then lit the barrel! My driver's license was burned to ashes. We dug through the ashes that night and again the next morning! We were so worried that I wouldn't be able to get on the plane, because I had no other ID. The next morning we went to the county clerks office and got a birth certificate for me and then headed to colorado springs in a snow storm, praying they would let me on the plane. They did, with my birth certificate and my debit card that has my picture on it. ADVICE:Take two forms of ID on any trip.

El dia antes que ir a California, pone mi licencia de manejar en una funda con comida (porque no tenia bolso) mi mama me boto, y se quemo en la basura! No tenia identificacion para ir en el avion! Tenia mucho miedo. En la manana fuimos a obtener un certificado de nacimiento, y con eso y un photo de un tarjeta de credito, podia entrar el avion!

Easter Part 2

We had a wonderful and restful Easter Sunday. We woke up and Analeah looked for her eggs hidden around the house. She thought that was really cool! I missed taking pictures of it. Then we went to church. Of course I forgot to take pictures before Church, so this is what I got afterwards.

Analeah has really become a little girl, especially learning about princesses! She has all of a sudden noticed Ariel, Cinderella, Beauty, and all the other Princesses. She still likes Dora, but a whole new world (no pun intented ha ha) has been opened to her. Its all about the crown, earrings, necklaces, etc. She dresses herself, and practically every day she comes out in a skirt with tights and her church shoes. It's hilarious!

Analeah le encanta las princesas de Disney. De repente ha apredido acerca de ellas y quiere mirar a todas las peliculas de ellas. Tiene la corona, y joyas de una princesa. Se viste con falditas y medias cada dia. Es chistosa!The other day, Analeah told me she wanted to give me a kiss. I said okay and bent over. She opens her mouth put it on my mouth like she was giving me CPR and kissed me! AAUUUGHH! I asked her what she was doing, She said, "I'm just giving you a kiss like Prince Eric gave Ariel! Isn't she too young to notice that kind of thing!

Clint's Visit/La Visita de la familia de Clint

Clint and Family came to visit us for a couple of days last week. I forgot my camara for most of the places we went, soooooo, I'm hoping Clint will post some pictures. We went to the Pier, to eat at the restuarant at the end (Ruby's), and then we went out to eat again a couple times. I guess you can tell what we like to do most. Ha Ha. We Were Sick/Estabamos Enfermas

So, I haven't blogged for almost a month, basically because we were all sick. After mom left, the girls got really sick. We had a full two weeks of runny noses, sore throats, fevers and sleepless nights. Auughhh, the flu! Sofi finally got some antibiotics and hopefully will feel better, in the meantime this is how they felt!

Tuvimos 2 semanas completas de mucosas, dolor de garganta, fiebre , noches sin dormir. Ese gripe horible! Finalmente la llevamos a Sofi al medico y le dio antibioticos. After Analeah felt a little better, but Sofi was still sick, she was a big help. Sofi was just lying on the floor, and Analeah gave Sofi her blanket and started tickling Sofi's face. Sisterly Love! AAWWW!

Mom came to see us for the weekend (a couple of weeks ago) but we really had a good time. The girls of course, loved it because they had constant attention! Here are just a few of the things we did while she was here. We even got to go to a puppet show down in Balboa Park. The show was about the Little Engine that Could. We then went out to eat in Little Italy. The girls look like they were starving! Unfortunately, Mom got sick the day before she went home, and felt horrible. Sorry Mom! We were so happy to have you.

For Valentines Day Grandma gave the girls giftcards to Walmart. What a treat! I asked Analeah what she wanted to get (She knew exactly what that card was because she always wants to swipe mine!) she immediately said, "a Crown!" So off we went to Wal-Mart and found the perfect crown with a necklace and earrings. David found a wand that he gave her on Valentines Day also.

Sofi wasn't as much fun. We got her a Mickey bath toy and a peanut eating elephant, but as most 1 year olds, she doesn't even remember that she got them. lol. O well!

The other night I went to the grocery store and there was a clown that was painting faces and making balloons for free! Analeah of course had to go. I thought she would be scared but she walked right up to the clown's chair, sat down and held still for 10 minutes. The clown made her butterfly wings with the ballons. Isn't she cute?

So I'm finally posting pictures of Sofi's 1st Birthday Party. We had it a little early while Cary was here. It was really fun, because she reacted so much different than Analeah did. We took a video but it is over 7 minutes long and was too long to upload. I need to figure out how to edit it so I can post it.

Cary came to visit us for New Years. We had such a great time. Analeah especially enjoyed it, as she had a new Candyland partner. We decided to go to Coronado island, just off the coast of San Diego, on New Year's Day. It is even more beautiful because there are fewer people and less influence from man.
Cary nos visito para el fin de ano. Teniamos un buen tiempo. Analeah desfruto bastante porque tenia otra persona para jugar. Decidimos a visitar a la isla de Coronado (acerca de San Diego). Es mas bonita que otros partes porque hay menos personas y las influencias del hombre.

Then we went to Seaport Village, a little village with shops and scenery. We had a fun time looking at all the neat sights. I had a nice surprise when I walked under one of those great big shade trees. A bird decided to shower us with a surpise, which I first thought was rain. Needless to say, i had bird "crap" all over me, my shirt, the stroller and our bags. I felt so gross the remainder of the day. I was lucky enough to walk under them at just the right time!

Our tradition is to go to Ghiradelli's for a warm brownie sundae every time we're in San Diego. What a delicious treat! All three of us had to share one sundae because they're so big. Before this we discovered a little restaurant in the heart of Little Italy. It has the best pizza we've ever tasted, literally.

So Analeah loves to sing. She always wants to sing by herself. During Family Home Evening on Monday night, I taped her singing "I am a Child of God" It is a precious moment that we can look back on. Now if I could only get the lighting right, it would be a great video.

So we got out Nuni's BYU outfit that she wore when she was 18 months. It fits Sofia perfectly. She looked so cute, even if everyone thought she was a boy. We got some pretty good smiles from her too.

Nuestra Viaje a Mexico!!

Decidimos a ir a Mexico esta fin de semana. Hemos escuchado que si parquea su carro en los EEUU y camina a Mexico es mas facil, y menos tiempo. Buscamos en el internet, y es muy facil, o es lo que otros dicen.

Entonces fuimos ayer. Tomamos el camino equivocado y estabamos en Mexico antes que sabiamos lo que paso. Tomamos otra camino que fue horible con carros locos y mucha basura. No habia una salida entonces teniamos a ir por unas millas asi. No estabamos preparados para el cambio tan fuerte. Esperabamos que tijuana fue bonito para turistas. Eramos los Turistas turros! Finalmente encontramos una salida y fue a la ciudad otra vez. Sabemos que Tijuana ya tiene unas cosas bonitas pero no las vimos. Decidimos a regresar a los EEUU y venir cuando tenemos una guia o un mapa. Queremos regresar con mas preparacion! Encontramss el camino corecto y vimos esto

Esperamos por mas de una hora, que hemos escuchado que no es tan mal. A veces es mas de 3 horas. Entonces finalmente regresamos a nuestra California.

Compramos solamente una cosa, una guitarrita para analeah. David la negocio y Analeah le encanta

Our trip to Mexico!!!

So we decided to go to Mexico this weekend, just to see what there is to do, and to say that we've been. We had heard that if you park your car on the US side and then walk across, it is much easier. So we decided to go. We looked it up online, and it seemed very easy. They have some type of plaza just after you cross the border that you can buy things, and eat, etc.

Well . . . We had no idea where we were going, and the next thing we knew, we had missed the exit to park and we were in Mexico. The minute we crossed the border, the organzied I-5 became utter chaos. Soon we were on a road, with potholes and garbage everywhere... and no way to get off. We had no maps, and the drivers were driving fast and crazy (no staying in the lines) Oh, and we didn't have Mexican Car insurance!!!! AAAAGHGHHGH! Even though we've been to some pretty rough neighborhoods in Ecuador, we were not prepared for this complete change of lifestyle. We expected Tijuana to be at least tourist friendly, but, that was not the case. Now, we know that there are some beautiful beaches and things to do in Tijuana, they just weren't where we were. We took a side turn, and we were in the wrong part of town. We decided to just go back to the US, and come back to Mexico with someone who knows, or at least a map to lead us. We do want to go back, but just with a little more preparation!

Anyway, it took us awhile to find our way back to the main roads and then... we saw this... I didn't take this picture, but it is exactly how it looked. We waited in line for over an hour, which he have been told is not a bad time, sometimes it is up to three hours.
So we finally made it across and decided to go home. Such was our trip to Mexico.

We did buy a miniture guitar that David bargained for. It is a real guitar, just Nuni's size.

So Analeah finally learned how to write her A's. She now makes three dots and connects them. She was practicing on her whiteboard in squares that I had drawn. (Thats how I keep her busy. I make as many squares as I can and see how long it takes to draw A's in them.--Ha Ha I use reverse pscycology.

Cary came to visit us last Monday night and stayed until noon the next day. She was in Anaheim for a conference and had a little extra time to come see us. We were so happy to see her. We played Candyland, put puzzles together and just hung out. Since she came during the big fires, we couldn't go up to get her because the freeway was jammed. So she came to us. Thanks Cary!

At our Back Door

Here are some pictures from a ward member's home. The fire was a one of the gates of Camp Pendleton, less than two miles away. Many members evacuated to the Church. We were all waiting, but thankfully the fire was 100% contained. No homes were burned. The Lord is watching over us.

Local Fires/Los Fuegos

As you may have heard there have been terrible fires here in southern California. So far about 1000 homes have been burned and hundreds of thousands of acres. The nearest fire is 5-10 miles away. About 300,000 people have been evacuated. So far here in Oceanside, all has been quiet! Hopefully it will stay that way. Here is a picture of a friend's house near David's work. David said yesterday that he went to the roof of his building and could see the fire. The electricity was out for quite awhile as well. They have contained that fire though. They have warned if the winds don't die down there is a possiblity that the fires could go all the way to the ocean. We're pretty close to the ocean, and it doesn't look as if the fire is going to move much this way. We'll wait and see. I'll keep you updated.

Hay unos fuegos aqui en el sur de California. Los fuegos se destruieron casi 1000 casas y muchas acres de la tierra acerca de San Diego. Aqui en Oceanside todo esta normal. Ojala, se queda asi. Aqui es una foto de la casa de una amiga que vive acerca del trabajo de David. Ayer David me dijo que puede ver el fuego en el techo del edificio de su trabajo. Pero hoy dia ese fuego ha parado. Si los vientos no se paren, dicen los profesionales que el fuego puede ir hasta el mar. Estamos solamente 5 milles del oceana entonces ojala no viene mas cerca. So Analeah knows a new song. She watched Madagascar for the first time at a friend's house. Now she goes around singing "I like to "mood" it "mood"it. I like to mood it mood it. She does the intonation and everything. You'll have to watch the movie if you don't remember the song.

Whenever I ask Nuni to do something, and she is kind of slow doing it I say "rapido" so she'll hurry up! We get that from Mom! The other morning I was working. She has a write and wipe book and was writing all of the letters. Anyway she said "Mommy I need a wipe!" I said, "Ok, go and get one" She said, "You go!" I said, "Please?" She said, "Please mommy?" So I tried to finish rating an essay that I was reading and was planning on going. Pretty soon she yelled "Mommy rapido! Go and get a wipe!" Children have a good and truthful way of telling you just how you really are. I guess I should watch what I say!

Sofi can now blow kisses. If you make kissing sounds, she'll give them back to you. If you put her lips to your cheek, she'll blow. Its really cute. Still no crawling, and no attempt at moving anywhere. Guess we'll wait and see.

Analeah ya sabe otra cancion nueva. El otro dia, miro a la pelicula "Madagascar". Tiene una cancion que dice "I like to move it move it. I like to move it move it." Analeah ya dice "I like to mood it mood it" Es muy chistoso.

Cuando yo necesito que Analeah haga algo, le digo "Rapido" para ella hace mas rapido. Una manana yo estaba trabajanda en la computadora. Analeah estaba jugando con un libro que pueda escribir y borrar. Entonces me dijo, "Mami, necesito un trapo para borrar!" Le dije "Por favor?" Me dijo, "Por favor Mami" Entonces le dije, "Ya te traigo" Yo queria terminar algo entonces no fui rapido. De repente me dijo "Mami, traigame RAPIDO!" Me da risas porque ya se como yo soy. Los ninos son honestos!!!

Sofia ya puede dar besitos. Si hace el sonido de un besito, ella hace tambian. Si se pone sus labios en tu cachete, ella hace un besote!!! Todavia no mueve!! Esta contenta a sentirse! Tal vez en el proximo mes!

So Sofia is now big enough to fit into Nuni's shopping cart. I would like to say that Nuni put her in there, it would make for a really funny story. But I have to admit that David and I did it while Nuni was sleeping. Sofi is eating up a storm--now entire baby food jars at a time. She loves sweet potatoes and squash. Not to keen on peas, (who is when its the baby version??) but still eats them. She won't eat baby cereal, but Nuni slips her fishy crackers once in awhile, and really loves those.
Sofi esta en el carrito de Nuni. David y yo pusimos aji. Nuni estaba durmiendo, entonces tomamos esa foto. No queriamos dejar a nuni a ver, tal vez quisiera probar!!!! Sofi yah coma bastante, los jarritos de comida de bebe. Le gusta la calabaza y papas dulces. No le gusta mucho los alverjitas, pero quien le gusta a esos????

So you caught me. I love to dress my daughters the same. I know, I used to hate it, but they look so cute, and I have to do it while they still let me. We had to get Nuni's 12 mo clothes out because Sofi has outgrown all the 9 month stuff-----aaaagggghhh! Should I be worried??? But she's soooo cute.

Aqui tenemos las ninas en ropa identical. Cuando yo era nina, no me gusta ponerme ropa como mi mama o mis hermanas. Pero, ahorra yo quiero hacerlo. Tengo que hacer antes que ellas dicen No! La ropa de Sofi es el talle 12 meses. No le queda la ropa de 9 meses. Ya esta grande!!!

Here is a picture at a piece of art outside the government offices. I wanted to get David with his certificate but he had to send it in when he applied for a passport. He'll get it back in a couple of weeks and I'll get it then.

One of over 1600 people getting their citizenship today! We got in line to check in at 6:45 and the line was already on the second side of the huge city administrative building. By 9:30 we had entered, but the line wrapped around the entire building and up the street. Participants sat on the floor and guests sat up in the balcony.

David fue uno de 1600 personas que recibieron sus certificados hoy dia. Llegamos al edificio a 6:45 en la manana y a las 9:30 podemos entrar. La linea para entrar estaba por todos lados del edificio y en la calle. Los personas se sentaron en el bajo, y nosotros (Amy, Analeah, y Sofia) nos sentamos arriba. Here's David!
After the oath, the judge named all the countries in which participants were from. When each country was called, the participants stood up. Here is David when Ecuador was called. He was the only one that I saw stand up.

Despues de la ceramonia, el juicio, dijo todos los nombres del paises de los participantes. Cuando dijo "Ecuador", David, levanto de pie con su bandera! Pienso que el estaba la unica de Ecuador.

So everyone knows that David gave me Adobe Photoshop for Mother's Day. I love it and use it all the time. I was trying some new photo effects and came across this etched in stone. It's kind of cool.

David finally had his interview for U.S Citizenship yesterday! And he passed! He will have his Oath of Allegience ceremony next Thursday! We are both relieved and excited. Congratulations David!!!

Finalmente, David tuvo su intrevista para ser un ciudadueno. Y paso todos los examenes!! Va a tener su ceremonia el proximo Jueves!! Felicidades David!

It was a fun day! David cooked a big egg breakfast at 5:30 in the morning before he left for work. I have such a great husband! We went to the park and then some friends took me out to lunch. Later that night David took us to Old Spaghetti Factory. We had Italian Sodas and good food. Then we came home and ate cake and Ice cream. Thanks for everything!

Mi cumpleanos fue muy especial. David me hizo un rico desayuno a las 5:30 en la manana, antes que el trabajo. El es muy bueno conmigo! Fuimos al parque con unas hermana en nuestro barrio.
